Supporting future talent with Materials Donation to Suffolk New College - Barnes Construction

Barnes Construction has strengthened its commitment to developing the next generation of construction professionals through a £1,000 donation of brickwork materials to Suffolk New College’s Suffolk Rural campus at Otley.

The donation of blocks and timber is already helping apprentices gain hands-on experience using the same high-quality materials found on live construction projects. Barnes Construction has also sponsored the college’s brickwork workshop, with company branding now displayed throughout the training area.

During a visit to the campus, Barnes Construction representatives met tutors and apprentices to learn more about how the materials are supporting training and career development.

Dan Mackenzie, Associate Divisional Director at Barnes Construction, said:

“It’s great to meet the tutors and learners and talk to them about careers in construction. As one of the region’s leading contractors, we are committed to creating opportunities for young people to take their first steps into the industry and encouraging apprenticeship pathways across our supply chain.”

The donation forms part of Suffolk New College’s Industry Partnership Scheme, which connects students with local employers and helps ensure learners are equipped with the skills, knowledge and resources needed for successful careers in construction.
