Barnes Construction have been successfully appointed onto the new Norfolk County Council construction framework.

The latest iteration of the framework is designed to meet the ongoing requirements for construction work across the county and will operate for an initial three-year term from 1 April 2024, replacing the previous framework arrangements that expired in September 2023.

The framework is divided into three lots: for projects worth up to £4.5m, for projects worth more than £4.5m and for small modular construction projects. Barnes Construction have been appointed to Lots 1 and 2.

Lot 1 covers medium-sized projects, including refurbishments, remodelling extensions, demolitions, and new builds with a value ranging from £500,000 to £4.5 million. The total value of Lot 1 is £50 million.

Lot 2 focuses on larger, more complex projects, with a mix of refurbishments, remodelling and new builds, with works valued over £4.5 million. The total value of Lot 2 is estimated at £300 million.

Mark Bailey, Framework Director said:

“As founder members of the SCC Construction framework and members of the Cambridgeshire CC and Central Bedfordshire we are delighted to have the opportunity to work in partnership with NCC over the next four years.

We look forward to helping the County Council realise their overarching ambition for sustainable development and ensuring that we reinvest project expenditure into sustainable and cost effective buildings, and enhanced social value for the communities in Norfolk.”
