We constructed two steel frame buildings to house 11 retail units, as well as converting an existing barn building into a toilet block. The buildings were designed to replicate barn buildings utilising composite Cedral cladding to finish the envelope.

In one of the buildings, we also constructed a mezzanine first floor, to house new offices for the staff at Ben’s Yard. We completed the fit out of this area, including the installation of a platform lift.

Each of the retail units were completed to first fix and then fitted out by the end-user’s own contractors.

Environmental Considerations:
As part of the scheme, the Client was going to construct an adventure playground though this did not form part of our works package, the topsoil removed from our construction was retained by the Client elsewhere on the farm, before being bought back for re-use on the adventure playground. This saved costs from muck away and associated CO2 emissions.
