The accommodation within the hotel comprised of 78 ensuite bedrooms, lift and stairwell cores, corridors, laundry rooms and staff areas. The retail unit was shell only and constructed as part of the overall Hotel structure. The Costa shell unit was all to their current 180m2 standard corporate design.

The building was constructed using a steel framed transfer structure to the ground floor area and a three storey timber frame structure to the hotel accommodation above. The lift shafts were constructed from a lightweight steel frame set within the overall timber frame structure. The project also incorporated the use of ‘off site’ prefabricated bathroom pods. The external envelope of the building was finished with a combination of brickwork, render and composite cladding to the ground floor.

The Costa Shell was constructed from steel framing with an external envelope comprising insulated render, composite cladding and timer cladding all to the Costa standard design.
