The project comprised of the conversion and extension of existing office building to form 133 Bedroom Travelodge Hotel including a Bar Cafe'. The project incorporated Modern Methods of Construction and was procured via a Design and Construct arrangement.
The existing building was fully converted into a new hotel comprising of 133 ensuite bedrooms, Bar Cafe', lift and stairwell cores, corridors, laundry rooms and staff areas.
The works included the full strip out of the existing building, including façade and the removal of the existing 2nd floor structure. Construction of a new steel framed 2nd floor to the full building footprint and also external walling comprising SFS walling and external render finish. Formation of the new bedrooms with metal stud partitions and the installation of prefabricated bathroom and shower pods. The internal finishings, fixtures and fittings to all areas were installed in accordance with the Travelodge standard image details.
