THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW SYBIL ANDREWS ACADEMY TO PROVIDE SECONDARY SCHOOL TYPE EDUCATION FACILITIES TO SUPPORT THE NEW MORETON HALL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT.
The project comprised of the construction of the Heart Building which incorporates teaching, administration, assembly and dining spaces in addition to the construction of a standalone separate two storey teaching block.
The buildings were constructed using a two storey steel frame and glulam type structure with an insulated structural roof deck finished with a single ply type roofing membrane. The external envelope of the building was formed using a Metsec lightweight steel structural framing system structure set between the steel frame and clad externally with a decorative Rockpanel rainscreen cladding system. Internally, new partitions and school quality finishes and fittings have been installed including building services
The new teaching blocks are complimented with a blend of hard and soft landscaping providing external play areas, secure car parking and contemplative planting zones.
