The project comprised of the demolition of existing office buildings and the construction of three new residential blocks incorporating 30 new student rooms and five self-contained flats. Works also included associated external paving’s and landscaping.
The new buildings were constructed using piled foundations with a ground bearing concrete floor slab, loadbearing blockwork cavity wall construction with a clay vertical hanging tile finish, precast concrete suspended upper floor slabs and staircases, internal loadbearing blockwork, timber roof structures with a standing seam copper finish and aluminium composite windows.
Internally, the study bedrooms and corridor areas were formed with load bearing blockwork partitions together with prefabricated shower pods to each of the rooms. The accommodation also included communal areas, kitchen spaces and ground floor cycle storage.
Feature landscaped paved areas was formed together with drainage and new site services.
