The East of England CO-OP's Joint Chief Executive, Nick Denny, has visited the Tosehill Retail Centre site in Ipswich.

Escorted by Mark Bailey, our Divisional Director, Nick saw first-hand how construction was progressing on the £4 million development, which when completed will see over 40,000 sq.ft. of retail space created, plus parking for over 160 cars. New retail outlets confirmed for the site include discount retailer Poundstretcher, Greggs and Fit4less.

Largely known for its food stores and funeral services, the East of England Co-op also has a vast network of investment property across the region worth more than £100million.

Nick took the opportunity when visiting the site to unveil details of the Co-op’s plan to build up to 130 homes and a new health centre on the five-acre site of the former Coastal Building Supplies and car garage in Derby Road behind Rosehill Road retail centre.

He commented: “We are bringing those brownfield sites back into use to provide different uses for which there is currently a demand. Discussions have been ongoing for 18 months, and the overhaul will also help provide additional land for Rose Hill Primary School next door.”
