CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CARDIOLOGY SUITE FACILITY COMPRISING OF THE FORMATION OF A BUILDING EXTENSION WITHIN A HOSPITAL COURTYARD AND PART REFURBISHMENT OF EXISTING DAY CLINIC AREAS TO CREATE THE NEW CARDIOLOGY SUITE.
The new single storey extension was constructed using traditional construction methods. Internally robust medical quality internal finishes and fittings were provided including complex mechanical and electrical services and coordination with the cardiology equipment specialist.
The new facility was constructed whilst surrounded by existing operational hospital day clinics.
As part of the contract we carried out re-roofing works, this enabled a significant insulation increase and building efficiency. We also utilised an existing central plant for supply of steam, hot water and chilled water.
Key features of the project were:
- Occupied live hospital site
- Medical quality finishes and fittings
- Specialised cardiology equipment
- Utilised existing central plant
- Re-roofing works increased insulation
- Faraday Cage
