THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TWO STOREY SEMINAR BUILDING CREATED TO PROVIDE NEW TEACHING AND CONFERENCE FACILITIES TO COMPLEMENT THE EXISTING ACCOMMODATION AT THE COLLEGE.
The new building was constructed using a two storey steel frame structure clad with a composite steel and concrete upper floor and roof deck. The envelope of the building was clad with a combination of facing brickwork, zinc feature cladding, aluminium framed curtain walling and composite windows. The roof finish comprised of a single ply roofing system and included the formation of roof level acoustically insulated plant equipment enclosure.
Internally, the building was finished to a highstandard with high quality materials including specialist acoustic finishes to some areas. The building also included complex mechanical and electrical installations including the incorporation of an audio visual system to the seminar and conference room areas
