THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONVERSION OF A FORMER TRANSPORT DEPOT INTO A NEW LOCAL AUTHORITY HIGHWAYS DEPOT. THE PROJECT WAS PROCURED VIA AN NEC PARTNERING CONTRACT UNDER A FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT.
The project comprised of the refurbishment of the existing HGV workshops and office areas and the formation of a new salt barn facility. The existing HGV workshops were extensively refurbished including prefabricated inspection pits, MOT and brake testing facilities, installation of a vehicle exhaust extraction system and compressed air services. The existing office accommodation was fully refurbished to create a modern office environment. A new 6,000 tonne capacity Salt Barn facility was constructed using a glulam frame structure with reinforced concrete retaining walls and red cedar timber cladding.
