Cllr Ray Gooding, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Skills took part in a topping out ceremony at Paxman Academy in Colchester.
Barnes Construction was awarded the £14 million contract to build the new school earlier this year, and when completed in Autumn 2019, it will provide 900 much needed spaces for the local community.
